Meet Agnieszka

Registered Clinical Counsellor

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.   My interest in becoming a counsellor started when I decided to explore the effects of immigration and inter-generational trauma on my emotional wellbeing.  My family had experienced war, systemic oppression and immigration.  Although it wasn’t labelled as such at the time, post-traumatic stress compounded over the years and was passed from generation to generation.  I started learning about the impact of unresolved trauma on the nervous system, and the emotional distress that is the result, that I was able to finally change the way  I was able to start heal.

I pursued a career in journalism because I wanted to help people who suffered from injustice and the diverse impacts of oppression.  And while I was able to help people tell their stories and have a voice, I realized I connected with their emotional distress and wanted to support them in healing.  That is when my career in counselling began to take shape.

I am deeply passionate about helping others heal from the impacts of unresolved trauma and addiction, as well as grief, chronic anxiety, depression and anger.  I am committed to helping my clients find freedom from angst, enhance their love relationships, and achieve the life they want to live.  I believe the journey to wellness starts with a genuine connection, empathy and understanding – as well as trust.   I take a compassionate, direct and client-centered approach to help my clients reach their goals and enhance their emotional health, wellness & resilience.  If you would like to find out more about how you can heal as an individual or couple, please click here.
